Hi, I'm Colleen Kehler
Colleen is a Certified Music Therapist (MTA) currently operating out of Calgary, Alberta. She grew up in a large extended family, where music, dance and community were central to her formative years. After years of self-taught explorations and performing with her Dad’s band on the bass, piano and guitar, Colleen took up brass instruments in her school ensembles and was a member of the Calgary Stampede Showband. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy at Capilano University, including a 1,000-hour internship at BC Children’s Hospital.
Colleen has experience working in early childhood, pediatrics, mental health & neurologic disorders, and community and medical music therapy. In 2018, she completed specialized training for working with premature infants in intensive care (NICU-MT). She is a member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT), member of Music Therapy Association of Alberta (MTAA) and her application has been approved with the Association of Counselling Therapists of Alberta (ACTA). Colleen has always been passionate about doing what she can for others, and is humbled by being able to share her love for music and supporting health and well-being in the people with whom she works.
